Walking

Walking is in the top three activities during the holidays. On the islands of Voorne-Putten and Goeree-Overflakkee there are hiking trails in all shapes and sizes. Below you can find some examples: 

  • The Voornepad is a route that lets you get acquainted with all aspects of the island Voorne. An important part of the fortifications, and forts. But not only these defenses are interesting. Apart from the Dutch polder landscape, the route goes through nature the inner edge and you can cross to the sea and beach.It Voornepad is a marked trail with a total length of 70 km. The main route is 45 km long. You can shorten or lengthen the walk by using alternative connections. Thus, it is possible to walk the route in many ways for more information or questions, please contact the reception.
  • The Bernissepad is a trail along, around and over the Bernisse, the ancient river that separates the islands Voorne and Putten. The varied walk leads through villages, towns, nature and recreation.The route has a total length of 26 km. However Bernissepad is also suitable for three short hikes of 6.8 and 12 km. The trail is marked with yellow-red-yellow markings. You can start the walk at all possible points. Suggested starting points are: parking at La Campagne and parking at the Zuidlandse Farm.
  • The Landgoederenpad is a trail along, around and across the country estates in Brielle each with its own history and special Flora and Fauna.Most of these country estates were originally owned by Rotterdam harbor barons. They chose the dunes of Voorne as a place for a country retreat near their workplace. The walk has a total length of approximately 18 km. It is also possible to divide the route into two routes of 8 and 10 km. The route is marked with yellow-red-yellow markings and can be started at Tourist Office, Hoflaan 6 to Oostvoorne and in the parkinglot at the Berkenrijsweg to Oostvoorne. The walk goes largely unpaved and is therefore unsuitable for wheelchairs and strollers.
