The former Haringvliet and Grevelingen estuaries and the easily reachable Nort Sea offer the water sport enthusiast ample space.

  • The Brielse Meer is located between the historical fortified town of Brielle and the Rotterdam port complex. This strech of water forms the core of De Brielse Maas recreation area, covering a ten kilometers long area of 750 hectares Various marinas are available along the lake for pleasure boating.   • The Oostvoornse Meer, on the north side of Voorne, is situated between the North Sea and the Brielse Meer. This 250 hectare lake offers every opportunity for carefree water sports. There is a ban on motorboats, and the very clear water, a depth of up to 40 metres beside the lack of current make it ideal for divers.
  • Tot he west of Spijkenisse is De Bernisse recreation area. This 300 hectare area comprises small lakes, creeks and ponds, amidst meadows, surrounded by historical villages. The area of the old De Bernisse river was developed into a unique water sport- recreation area, specially for non-motor water sports. There is every facility for rowing, surfing, fishing and swimming.
  • The Haringvliet is not only an excellent naviagtion waterway, it is also a beautiful nature area. It is also ani deal area for motor and sailing boats. The North Sea lies close at hand through the Haringvliet locks. 
  • The Grevelingenmeer is the biggest saltwater lake in south-west Europe. To the west it is bordered by the Brouwersdam and tot he east by the Grevelingendam. The lake lies on the border of the provinces of South-Holland and Zealand, between the islands of Goeree-Overflakkee and Schouwen-Duiveland.
