Fishing

The surrounding area of Hellevoetsluis is a true paradise for sport fishers. Whether you want to fish for white fish, carp or predator fish, or go sea or fly-fishing: everything is possible.

Known fishing spots are the Kanaal door Voorne, the Haringvliet, the Spui, the Brielse meer, the Oostvoornse meer, the canals by the city walls of Hellevoetsluis and Brielle and the many polder waterways in the area.

Sea fishers also have everything they could wish for, including the tidal barrier Neeltje Jans, the sluices at Haringvliet, the Maasvlakte, the Callandkanaal and the Nieuwe Waterweg.

Furthermore, there are daily trips for sport fishers from various harbours to the Grevelingen, the Oosterschelde and the North Sea.

You can go fly-fishing at the Bernisse trout lake, situated in a beautiful nature reserve. If you’ve never done this, experienced instructors who can show you the ropes of fly-fishing.
