• “Once an identification mark in the North Sea, helping seamen to establish their position at sea while at the same time warning seamen of dangerous sand banks along Zeeland’s coast”. Due to modern navigational aids, the lightship is no longer active at sea and is now a museum ship located in the harbour of Hellevoetsluis.
  • Travel back in time with the tram on the Brouwersdam. Listen to tales the conductor tells about the Rotterdam Tramway Company, at one time the largest transport provider in this part of the country. The RTM museum houses a fine collection of steam and diesel locomotives, as well as beautifully restored carriages and goods wagons, which are still in use today. You can wander round the depot and admire our old post van and the last surviving camping coach.
  • Open-air Museaum De Duinhuisjes consists of four original dune farmhouses and their outbuildings, dating back to the period between 1850 and 1910. Three dune houses were moved from the dunes of Voorne tot he museum grounds by the Historical Society, where they were re-erected into their original state. The most recent house were already in the museum grounds. The small dwellings are decorated in the style that was common around 1900, with the exception of the house Duinzoom that accommodates the themed exhibitions.
